Default Conflict with PowerDVD 9 Ultra

I just installed Cyber Link Power DVD 9 Ultra in order to play blue-ray DVDs. During the installation Zone Alarm Extreme Security version 9.0.083.000 quarantined 9 files because it said they were infected with "RarePacker.Multi.Generic". What is this and is it a real or false issue. I told Zone Alarm to restore the 9 files which lets Power DVD read a blue-ray disk (without these 9 files the DVD program cannot read a blue-ray DVD). However, every time I run the DVD program Zone Alarm now pops up with the 9 files asking me to rename. I'm not sure what renaming will do, but I have not renamed any. How do I get Zone Alarm to stop popping up with these 9 files? When I close the window showing the 9 files that are defaulted to rename the blue-ray DVD program runs fine. How do I stop this Zone Alarm screen from popping up?

Hello,

This issue was reported to Kaspersky.

A workaround would be to add the files to the exception list so they are not scanned and identified as an issue.

I added all 9 of them to the exception list and still have two of them pop up asking to be renamed.

Hello,

If they share a common location or directory exclude the entire directory or directories.

I have the same issue on the ZAX v9.1.008.000. I added these files to exception list, but still ZAX always asks me to quartine them every time I wake-up the system from sleep.

The advice about creating exceptions ~~~ snip ~~~ . I have checked on the Kaspersky forums, and although the issue is mentioned, there is no real sense of urgency there and no mention of a pending fix.

Hi!
off topic remarks removed. Please remember that this a USER support forum to deal with ZA product related issues. Not a board to discuss about what ZA/CP should fix or not.

For the latter please contact the ZA technical support directly, it is free if you have a valid license. Link in my signature.

If you find a solution after having consulted with ZA please post it back, it will help other users.

Further offtopic posts will be removed without further notice.

Thanks,
Fax
